Sweat With Your Sole National Conference
Black Girls RUN! is excited to announce the launch of three new markets bringing their run groups to 75 in the United States located in 34 states. Black Girls RUN! (BGR!) hosted a new group interest meeting earlier this year where hundreds of women met showing interest in bringing Black Girls RUN! To their communities. From that call, Fredericksburg, VA, Little Rock, AR and Louisville, KY were selected to launch in 2023. More groups will roll out next year.
“It is always exciting to know that we are expanding our footprint and impacting more lives,” says Jay Ell Alexander, Owner and CEO of BGR!. “We have almost 260K members nationwide, and we are still growing.”
The launch of these groups will be part of the annual conference and race weekend, Sweat With Your Sole that BGR! hosts. The traditional conference will be biennial with this tour of cities (Sweat With Your Sole On the Road, #SWYS23) during the “off years”. #SWYS23 will kick off in Fredericksburg, VA on Saturday, May 20 at 9am at Oak Mill Park. We will host a 5K run/walk and meet n’ greet for women to come together to begin planning for future events and the roll out of runs in their community.
BGR! Little Rock, AR will relaunch on June 17, at the Juneteenth In Da Rock 5K. Little Rock is actually a relaunch due to the group closing in 2018. BGR! Louisville is the first BGR! Run group in Kentucky and will launch on July 29 in partnership with Fleet Fleet Louisville. #SWYS23 will also feature events with BGR! Boston, MA on September 9 at the Road to Wellness 5K and BGR! Central Valley in Fresno, CA. Attendees to all of of these events will be able to receive BGR! #SWYS25 special commemorative medals.
