Hello BGR! Nation! Just two weeks ago, we announced to the world about Black Girls RUN! being acquired and me now serving as the new owner and CEO of the organization. It has been a busy two weeks and I am so appreciative to each one of you for you for the outpouring of love and support you have shown me. I am so excited about this new opportunity and responsibility!

Now, that the excitement has begun to settle, it is time to get to work!

Over the last nine years of the existence of Black Girls RUN!, our relationship with local and national races has been a driver for the impact we make at races and the experience we offer to our members. Yes, our local runs are the essence of what we provide and do, but these local runs fuel our members to set new goals, train for races and even travel to races to meet other members. We are appreciative to all of our race partners that we have worked with!

Two years ago we announced a national boycott of several races, but since then have reestablished partnerships with Rock n’ Roll Race Series in 2017.

Well with new leadership of BGR! comes an opportunity to reestablish new partnerships and relationships. I am so excited to announce the (re)establishment of partnerships with both Hot Chocolate Race Series (RAM Racing) and DIVAS Running Series. We will be announcing more details about the partnership soon, but I am appreciative to both race companies for the opportunity to open the door of communication again and for their continued support of Black Girls RUN!. Check in with your local BGR! group on how this announcement impacts our members and get information on immediate discounts and more!

"The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Race Series is ecstatic to have Black Girls RUN! back as a national partner," says Steve Ginsburg, Owner of RAM Racing. "We always believed in BGR and it’s mission, as the woman of BGR are an important part of the national running community. The women that started BGR! did a great thing, and now it’ll benefit from Jay Ell’s fresh new direction. You go Jay Ell, we’re with you all the way!"

"DIVAS is so excited to be partnering with Black Girls RUN! again," says Robert Pozo, Executive Race Director of the Divas Running Series. "Their energy at our races adds to the race experience and we look forward to the future of BGR! and seeing more BGR! members at our upcoming events."

Stay tuned for more greatness!

April 18, 2018 (BGR! NATION) --- Today, Black Girls RUN! (BGR!) announced their plans for their annual Sweat With Your Sole Conference (SWYS) and Race Weekend. For the last five years, BGR! has hosted a two-day event in one city featuring a conference, race and other weekend events. This year, BGR! is remixing this event and bringing it to ten cities across the country! Registration opens on Friday, April 20.

“I am so excited to announce this year’s tour,” says Jay Ell Alexander, Owner and CEO of Black Girls RUN!. “The tour is the perfect combination of physical activity and mental wellness and features different types of activity and information to include a 5K, hip hop cardio, nutrition education and much more.”

The SWYS The Remix tour will visit Raleigh, Jacksonville, Seattle, Washington DC, Sacramento, Chicago, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Charlotte and Atlanta. This annual event has quickly grown into a highly anticipated and popular healthy living event and will include interactive workshops, dynamic speakers and a vast amount of knowledge-sharing on running, health and nutrition.

The tour includes celebrity coaches, Dwight Holt of Dance Your Pounds Off, Patrice Graham of Colors of Yoga, Tasha Turnbull of T2 Fitness and Tia Robinson of Tia Robinson Coaching.

Tasha Turnbull is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, fitness nutrition specialist, motivational speaker and award-winning entrepreneur. Dear Black Girls RUN! Nation,
When we created Black Girls RUN! in 2009, we had no idea that we were igniting a movement that would touch the lives of thousands of women across the country. We wanted to share our love of running with others, while directly addressing the health and well-being of our community. And, we've been able to accomplish that and so much more.
Each day, our amazing 200+ ambassadors work tirelessly to support and encourage women in their community to lace up their shoes, put one foot in front of the other, to not just log miles, but to put themselves first and to rightfully reclaim their health and their lives. Our 225,000+ members show up loud and proud rocking their BGR! gear to weekly group runs and races around the world -- crushing obstacles, changing the narrative and most importantly supporting each other through all of lives ups and downs. Both setting a great example and foundation for generations to come.
For 9 years we've been vessels of this movement, and today we are excited to announce a new chapter of the organization. Jay Ell Alexander will be the new owner and CEO of Black Girls RUN!. For many years Jay Ell has stood beside us building and growing this community. But she has been more than a colleague. She's become family. Without a doubt in our minds, she's the perfect person to carry on the legacy of Black Girls RUN!
We always knew that the day would come when it was time for us to continue fulfilling our purpose beyond the four walls of Black Girls RUN! and we couldn't be more excited about what the future holds, for us, Jay Ell and the BGR! Nation.
Today we stand as two immensely proud and grateful women. We'll forever be indebted to our ambassadors (past and present) and run coordinators for being the backbone of the organization, and to our members for supporting our vision and each other.
With Jay Ell's leadership, we know that the legacy of Black Girls RUN! will continue on and that it will thrive in ways that we could never have imagined. As we pass the torch on, we will be forever grateful for all of the miles, heart and soul each and every one of you have poured into Black Girls RUN! But there’s still more to do, so many more lives to touch, and so many more miles to run. Keeping running, keep pushing the boundaries, and continue to preserve the sexy.
With love,
Toni & Ashley

Dear BGR! Members-

We have made the difficult decision to close our Black Girls RUN! All Access membership service.

Having first launched Black Girls RUN! All Access in 2015 with moderate participation, we decided to reintroduce the service at the beginning of 2016, with added benefits and perks to make the program more beneficial for members. Over time, we’ve had several members take advantage of the service, however, were not able to make BGR! All Access a viable membership program and service for members.

We want to thank BGR! All Access members for their support. It has been a wonderful opportunity to provide even more membership benefits and perks to BGR! members across the country. For those who were looking forward to taking advantage of the program, we’re sorry we are no longer able to offer this service.

As of today, you will no longer be able to purchase BGR! All Access. Current yearly and monthly subscribers will continue to receive their membership perks and benefits for the duration of their membership term. We will continue to add discounts and honor any BGR! discounts for the full term of your membership based on the date BGR! All Access was purchased. The service will not change. The only change will be that BGR! All Access will no longer be available for purchase.

Again, thank you so much for your support and your continued support of Black Girls RUN! If you have any questions, please email me at

Thank you!
Toni Carey

Are you still on the fence about attending

Faith.Hope.Love. Mom Conference on November 7, in Atlanta? Early bird special ends today!

Here are 5 reasons that will inspire you to register today:

1. Our Speakers Are Moms and Caretakers Too
There’s something to be said about a good message, but there’s something to be remembered about a great message delivered by a person who has walked in your shoes. Our speakers are unlike any and getting them together in the same room for one day will be unmatched. From these women, you’ll learn things you can actually use and apply to your life.
2. It’s the Chance to Meet Like-minded Women.
There’s something about being in a room with like-minded people. And there’s something even more powerful about being in a room with moms, stepmoms, aunts, and caretakers. She knows what you’re going through because she has been there. She shares your concerns and uncertainties because she lived them too. Wonderful things happen when women get together in support of one another. There is an energy that is unlike no other.
3. Break Out Your Comfort Zone
It’s so easy to sit in the comfort of our homes and dispense “likes” or “shares” – which as we know social media is a powerful tool. But to live your life different, to live your life anew we have to try something different. There are many women who face the same challenges you face every day. Solidarity has a name, and it’s the women you'll meet at FHL Mom Conference.
Oh, and if you’re terrified of the idea of coming alone, see #5.
4. Invest In Yourself
As we go about our day, we see one another at work, in the grocery line, pumping gas, chauffeuring our kids to practice – and it’s beautiful. It’s a wonderfulness that will only last a short while. But while we are here, in this space to show up 110% for our families we must recharge, it’s that simple. Take a much-deserved break as we enter the hectic holiday season.
5. Bring a mom who deserves it!
Take your neighbor or best friend or sister or co-worker by the hand and give her a day of renewal. You won’t regret it.
