One Step At A Time
We have all done it before we get anxious, we get in a hurry. I always like to use my girls for an example when they really want something then they will continuously ask repeatedly. Just the other week my youngest daughter was so excited about going to the daddy/daughter dance she asked every day, every hour, every second that she couldn’t stay on task because she was so anxious to get to the day of the daddy/daughter dance. We are just like my daughter we get so caught up in the result…I want to run a marathon that we forget the process that it will take to get there. We want to rush our training, we want to take shortcuts, we want to multitask in hopes that it will get us closer to our goal, but it doesn’t. We end up forgetting certain task that are involved in the process, we can’t really perfect our skills because we are focusing on too many things at one time. It begins to become frustrating leaving one to feel like that can’t achieve the task at hand. It’s not that we can’t achieve the task yet it’s because we are trying to achieve too many tasks at hand.
It reminds me of this time of the year; the time of the year where you’ll see gyms, yoga studios, aerobic classes slammed pack and then all sudden it starts too slowly slim down. Why? Because so many people start off with too many goals, too many tasks, too many things to do that they get lost in the sauce. They get frustrated because there are no results, or they are not getting to that goal quick enough.
So, what really happens when we focus on too many TASKS?
Our bodies can only take so much multitasking until it gets to the point where it will begin to break down and you eventually get burned out. When that process occurs then it leads to either slowing down or completing stopping. It’s like the gym being slammed pack in January and then by February is slimmed down.
How can we avoid this Burn out?
We can avoid it by simply taking it one step at a time. When we allow yourselves to take it one step at a time, we give ourselves time to develop routines, consistency, and discipline.
So, in saying all of this if you just simply take one step at a time you allow yourself the ability to grow more within the task, goal, and aspiration because you can focus on task at hand… You will feel more invigorated, excited, and full of life. In 2023, take time out from the hustle and rushing of life, multitasking and simply take each day at a time, One step at a time.
Honor the journey, remembering it’s not just about the destination but the journey. Enjoy the journey, grow through the journey and celebrate the journey by taking it one step at a time.
