How many times have you missed an exit or a turn because your mind was somewhere else? Or forgot where you were going because you were thinking so hard and in your thoughts?

Or you keep replaying the same scenario repeatedly.

I had that moment last week actually; I missed my turn twice because I was in my thoughts thinking of the “What if’s”. You know the feeling “if I could do things differently I would”.

Did that change my situation? No

Did it make things better?  No

Then I realized, while I’m in my head thinking of the “What if’s” I’m actually missing out on the” What is” happening right now.

So, what am I saying?

Get out of your Head and Stop being so caught up in the “What if’s” the “I should have” and just LIVE. In fitness we can beat ourselves up so bad because of not meeting a goal or upset because we have put on some pandemic weight.

You know that common statement that you here, “Before COVID I was doing this and doing that.” We beat ourselves up because of where we were versus taking the time out to truly honor where we are now.

Think about it, how many times have you said to yourself, “What if I don’t reach that goal or that PR time?” I have realized in my fitness journey the less time I spend focusing on the “What if’s” the more the “What is” began to show up in my life. The more goals were met because I was focused on what I can do in the here and now, at this moment versus focus on what I should have done.

This healthy lifestyle is not a destination it is a journey. Journey that comes with so many different routes, detours, road closures and new avenues.

Stop beating yourself up of where you were and start celebrating where you are now. The thought of just getting back into the swing of things is a WIN!

Okay you gain weight during the pandemic. That is in the past focus on what you can do today not on what you should have done in the past. Our circumstances do not define who we are; how we choose to react to our circumstances is what defines your path. Sometimes we need these moments in our lives to truly tap into our mindset. Detours and roadblocks allow us to redirect and refocus.

Stop stunting your growth by living in the past and encompassed by your thoughts. Start living in the Here and Now and watch how you achieve those goals.

We are winning each day that you wake up and you take time out to care for you!

Today is a brand-new day to start over again. Today is your day…Your day to begin again…Stop dwelling on the what if’s and now let’s focus on the What is!!!!
