BGR! Nation #COVID19 Update

Hello BGR! Nation!
As a running community leader, many people have taken note of how BGR! has pivoted and shown leadership in these unprecedented times. Since March, we have suspended our group runs to make our safety priority above all. As cities and states across the country phase in a return-to-activities process, BGR! Nation is taking an approach that is uniform for all of our groups across the country.
Our current suspension of BGR! official and unofficial group runs is in place through May 31st.
The suspension of all BGR! group runs will continue through the month of June (through June 30th). We will assess the impact of COVID-19 and the pandemic and provide an update on a month to month basis.
Even if you make your own personal choice to run in a group, we also ask that no group run pictures be posted to the Black Girls RUN! group pages as we think this sends a wrong message to the community. We strongly support virtual challenges and solo runs until it is safe for all. Any photos not following these guidelines will be removed.
We are continuing to encourage solo runs, including the use of masks as you deem appropriate in outdoor settings when approaching people and social distancing. Again, ALL of our group runs regardless of your current state/city mandates are suspended. This includes the 10 or less with social distancing rule. No BGR! group runs.
Nationally, we will continue to provide activities, such as free fitness sessions and virtual runs, etc. to foster our mission of making fitness and health living a priority in our community and sisterhood during this time. Our groups are doing a phenomenal job of keeping our members engaged through challenges, virtual meetups and positive motivation as well.
Our safest option is to stay close to home and run alone or with members of your household. The risk is far greater than the reward and we want to do our part to lead by example.
Let’s all do our part – keeping all of us in prayer!
