What does running the New York City Marathon mean to you?

Running the NYC Marathon will be the fulfillment of a dream. NYC is one of the most iconic cities in the world. The energy, diversity and resilience of the people of New York City are what stands out to me. Running through all five boroughs and overcoming the physical challenge of this course will be the ultimate reward and a reminder to me and all of my supporters that anything is possible, and you accomplish what you set your mind to. 

What are you most looking forward to about this race?

I am most looking forward to the energy of the NYC crowd and the comradery of everyone that will be stepping up to that start line. It is amazing how much stronger we are together, and I get so much encouragement from the stranger who comes alongside me and says “we got this!” 

Why Black Girls RUN!?

Black Girls RUN! has brought so much into my life. The sisterhood, persistence and joy in this running community is unlike any other. “No woman left behind” is not just something we say, but what we do every time we step on the pavement. I am proud to represent this amazing organization and continue to support Black Girls RUN! in every way that I am able.
