What does running mean to you?

Running the Chicago Marathon is an incredible milestone for me. It represents the opportunity to accomplish something I once thought was beyond my reach. Instead of simply watching it on TV or hearing about it from others, I will have the privilege of being part of this iconic event and experiencing the energy, dedication, and spirit firsthand.

What are you looking forward to most about this race?

I’m most excited about the entire experience, every moment, from the starting line to the finish. I want to embrace it all while appreciating the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing event. I look forward to meeting new people, taking in the energy of the crowd, and running a strong, injury-free race.

Why Black Girls RUN!?

I believe in and live the mission of what the organization stands for. Black Girls RUN! was there for me 9 years ago getting me off the couch and eventually running marathons. I’ve been a Run Coordinator for BGR! for 7 years helping women reach their run goals. Black Girls RUN! is truly moving and motivating women to change what running and health looks like for them.
