Traci Jones
For more than 25 years, Traci Jones has been “Outrunning Diabetes” using running as a powerful tool to protect her health and inspire others to believe in what is possible. With a family history of diabetes and her own early warning of prediabetes, Traci made a commitment to change the trajectory of her health through movement, consistency, and determination. Today, she is a certified run coach, wellness advocate, and proud Black Girls RUN! Ambassador who is chasing an extraordinary goal: completing a half marathon in all 50 states and on every continent, while earning all six Abbott World Marathon Majors stars. After completing Chicago and New York City, Boston will be star number three.
Beyond the miles, Traci is a wife, daughter, Hampton University alumna, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Human Resources leader who believes in leading by example and lifting others along the way. As a woman who continues to redefine what is possible at every stage of life, she is deeply honored to represent the Black Girls RUN! Foundation at the 131st Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America. Traci hopes her journey reminds other women that bold goals do not have an expiration date. For her, every starting line is a celebration of health, perseverance, representation, and community, and every finish line is proof that there is always another goal worth chasing.

Lisa Nixon
My name is Lisa, and I am a 54-year-old proud mother, grandmother, and godmother. I love dancing, traveling, spending time with family, and running. Running has been part of my life since high school, but over the years, it has become something much more meaningful than a sport.
In 2019, my life changed forever when my husband tragically passed away in an automobile accident. During one of the most difficult times of my life, running became my sanctuary. It gave me space to grieve, clear my mind and find the strength to keep moving forward. Some days running was about covering miles. Other days it was simply about getting outside, taking a breath, and finding peace.
Being part of Black Girls RUN! has also been an important part of my journey. I’ve built lasting friendships and found a community of women who encourage, support, and motivate one another. Today, I still have places to see, races to run, and goals to accomplish. I’m looking forward to where my next miles take me.
