What does running the New York City Marathon mean to you?

As a proud member and ambassador of BGR! Columbia, this journey is about much more than crossing a finish line—it’s about perseverance, community, and inspiring others to prioritize their health and wellness.

After overcoming challenges, including a broken ankle before the Chicago Marathon, I am grateful for another opportunity to chase this goal. Every mile I run is a reminder that setbacks don’t define us—our determination does.

What are you most looking forward to about this race?

I am most looking forward to the sense of accomplishment and pride I will feel as I cross the finish line. It has taken me two years to be healthy enough to run an entire marathon again. And I can’t wait.

Why Black Girls RUN!?

I am proud to represent Black Girls RUN! in our inaugural fundraising participation in the TCS New York City Marathon. Black Girls RUN! encourages and supports women of color to reach our health and fitness goals. We inspire and motivate one another in group runs and community races. BGR! has exposed many women to races we would have never dared to dream of running. I hope I can run NYC and inspire another women to move towards there dream of marathon miles too.
