There are run coaching apps and groups you can join for free. Why are you charging?

We believe that our training programs are the best way for any runner to complete a half or full marathon. We know that your running journey can be intimidating, frustrating and confusing. To be honest, it’s the reason why most people never complete a half or full marathon.  Our exclusive training plan, paired with the camaraderie of your local BGR! group and training buddies, we provide a personable and safe environment to give you all the tools and information you need to make this a fun and exciting journey for you. From Coach Tia, to various running experts we’ll introduce you to, it’s what makes our training program the best!

Are there opportunities to train with Coach Tia or the local running groups in-person?

This is a virtual based training program, so that means the majority of your runs will be done on your own. However, if you have a local BGR! Group in your area, we encourage you to use their standing runs as an opportunity to log your miles. Just be sure to let the ambassador or run coordinator know that you are participating in the training program as your pace may vary from the group.

But many of our groups want to support you on your running journey as well and have volunteered to be more involved with the training program by providing dedicated ambassadors/run coordinators, and/or special runs. Once you sign up for the program, we’ll provide a list of groups that plan to hold special runs and/or group graduations locally or who have local resources on the ground to support you.

Am I ready to run a half or full marathon?

As with any workout our training plan, we encourage you to consult your doctor before beginning any new running program.

Choosing to run a half or full marathon is nothing to take lightly. Not only does it require an intense amount of commitment, but it also requires quite a bit of time to dedicate to training. If you've completed several 10k's, chances are you're ready to run a half marathon. We do not recommend running a 5K and jumping to a half marathon or, running a 10K and jumping to a full marathon. In the registration process, we'll ask you several questions to make sure you're ready to start the program. If we feel that you aren't quite ready yet, we will ask that you not proceed with training and you will receive a full refund.

Once you register for the program, we will ask you to sign a liability waiver and create an account on our website. You will not receive any materials until the waiver has been signed.

Should I register for a race or do you all register for me a race?

Choosing the right race to run is an extremely personal decision. We would never want to choose a race for you to run. Also, we know that many of our members choose races to run up to a year in advance.

During the registration process, please let us know if you have already registered for an event, the date, and your specific goals related to completing the distance.

If you need help choosing a race, please let us know and we can give you some tips in choosing the right race for you.

How do I sign up for the payment plan?

When you register for the training, choose the ticket titled "BGR! Distance Training (Half Marathon or Marathon) Payment Plan"We require a 50% deposit and you settle your account before training begins.
