Chasing Our Dreams #sponsored

At Black Girls RUN!, we’re all about chasing after our dreams.  We’re excited to find a partner who shares that passion. On November 12, 2017, we will team up with Cricket Wireless for their Dream Tour 2017 LA Color Run and we encourage all of you--our sisters--to come out and join the fun.

Moving forward doesn’t always mean putting one foot in front of the other. Our goals can be mental, physical or spiritual.  But, we believe they share something in common.  The discipline, strength and balance—of both mind and body—that we get from running can help us pursue our dreams.  After all, it doesn’t matter what our goals are, we all know it takes hard work and dedication to achieve them.

It’s important that we always keep moving forward, whether the steps are small or big. And that’s where having a strong community becomes critical. At BGR!, we support, motivate and celebrate each other. When we come together online, or at events like The Color Run, it reminds us that we have all the support we need to take on anything.

We know, it’s easy to say we can “take on anything”, but it’s so much harder to do it.  How many times have you looked at your dreams and thought they are impossible to achieve?  You feel overwhelmed and end up quitting before you begin.  Or, you give up when things become tiring, inconvenient or difficult. We’ve been there, too.  But, if we break down our goals into bite-sized steps, they become far less scary.

This week, we encourage each of you to really think about your goals. Visualize yourself reaching them. Think about the emotions you feel. Now, write down the steps you need to take to make those dreams a reality. Maybe it’s five, maybe it’s 100. Break your goals down into manageable steps, and you’ll start to see there’s a clear path toward reaching them.

Make a list, make a plan, and chase after your dreams. And, as Cricket Wireless says, you’ll have  something to smile about in the end!
