On top of that, they make you buy your own theme park tickets if you want to visit the park after the race. Plus Disneyland makes you pay for parking. I know what you are thinking – Geez!! Are Disney races worth all this money? As a person who has done two Disney races this year and signed up to do a third coming up in November, I can answer – Absolutely!!! The Disneyland Avengers Half Marathon sold out in an hour which is typical for Disney halfs. There are reasons for this:

It’s not just a race – it’s an experience! In what other event do you get to run through the happiest place on earth? There is nothing like jogging past Cinderella’s castle at sunrise or having Mickey Mouse greet you at the finish line. Plus you get to take pictures with the characters. I’m talking Goofy, Princess Tiana, Buzz Lightyear, Captain America, Thor, and on and on! These are memories that will last a lifetime. And what’s even better is -- Disney has staff members who will take a picture with your own camera for free!

Well-Organized. From the expo, to the parking, to the corrals, to the free swag at the end – these races are well-oiled machines. Mickey is not messing around! Dress up! Nowhere else do you get to dress like a fairy, princess, or evil stepmother and not get weird looks. Let your inner kid be free! It’s fun being creative with your outfit. It’s All About the Bling, Baby! Hello. My name is Meemee, and I am a bling monster. The medals given by Disney are simply the best! They are gold, large, well designed, and the ribbons are always beautiful. A great addition to any collection. [caption id="attachment_67948" align="alignright" width="371"]Disney1 1. All you have to do is raise money for the charity, and your registration is free! Also, the Disney travel agent can offer you a small discount off theme park tickets if you purchase through them. C’mon! You’ve got to do at least one Disney race in your life! Put it on your running bucket list. Trust me – it’s worth it! Myra “MeeMee” Taylor is a proud member of the BGR-Los Angeles Chapter.
